Senior Reps | Corona Del Mar, CA

If you do not know what senior reps are or how I started mine, you can check out an older blog post here.

Earlier this year I had a shoot with each of my four high school senior reps/spokesmodels. Their shoot was four separate days and unfortunately, they weren’t photographed together. When I first started this program, I really wanted a shoot of all of them together, but with all different schedules it was hard to make it happen. Until, earlier this summer, we all started to plan to make this shoot happen one July day. Woohoo! It did! Unfortunately, Carlos, my one and only gentleman, was unable to attend last minute.

In all honesty, the day of the shoot was a bit of a challenge. We were trying to go for a fun beach shoot! Yay! But the first “Oh darn!” was my doing. I didn’t plan correctly. We all planned to meet at Huntington Beach Pier and do the shoot there. I found out by another photographer that the U.S Open of Surfing was happening that weekend and the beach would be PACKED! So, I had to change the game plan. We then planned to meet at Little Corona Del Mar Beach, California, but with the tides being so high + crowds of people (I thought all the people wanting to enjoy the beach but didn’t go to Huntington, would go to Newport… Nope, they had the same mindset and went to Corona Del Mar! Heheh), we had to move it to the main Corona Del Mar Beach! Which that was even more packed!! Grr!! But guess what? We made it work! We didn’t get the water photos we wanted, but we still had a great time near the beach on a beautiful day and worked with what we got.

During this shoot, the girls got more time to hang out and get to know each other. Now, we all have hung out earlier this year at a Starbucks meet up, but it was nothing like this shoot. It was fun being able to have the girls watch each other be in front of the camera and have a relaxed + fun shoot together. As they each took turns in front of the camera, the two other girls would talk and get to know each other more. By the end of the shoot, these girls were taking selfies together and connecting. As their photographer and the one who started this program for/with them, that filled my heart with SO much happiness! One of the reasons I started the program was to allow seniors from different high schools to meet each other! I love being able to help these seniors create friendships and build their confidence at the same time.

I hope to be blogging each of their sessions from the spring, some time soon! 😀

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from this little fun session we had.
