I remember making a blog post on new years eve last year and being amazed at such a great year it was. (You can view it here.)
This year, as the year is coming to an end and looking back at all the opportunists I have had, I am even more amazed!
I was saying that last year was my busiest year yet… Well 2016 topped that by even more! It has been a crazy year and I have been so blessed!
Multiple weddings, engagement/sweetheart sessions and portrait sessions. Retreats, workshops, and MORE!
After being so busy this last year + also working 20-25 hours each week at my part time job, I have made the decision to go full time with my photography for 2017! (You can view more all about it here.) It’s been exactly a week since my last day and it still has not yet hit me yet. I can blame the holidays for that! ๐ But I am so excited to really dive into just my business and be a full time photographer after the new year! ๐
Other than photography related… Somehow, during the busy year, David and I also made time to look for a new place and actually move in together! Yay! That was a huge accomplishment for us!
With that being said, I could not be anymore thankful for this year. For all my friends, family, and most importantly, my clients. I would not have had such a great year this year if it wasn’t for everyone who has been so supportive!
THANK YOU!!
Just like last year’s blog post, I have put together just little behind the scenes of some weddings and portrait session! I feel like I didn’t have as many BTS shots as last year, but that still doesn’t mean it wasn’t a great year. ๐ Some of them still crack me up and I love sharing them for the ones who really have no idea what us photographers do for the shot! ๐
I am surprised I don’t have a stronger lower back for always being bent like this for the shot ^
You then see me in the same position, but making sure I have the correct setting for the light/location change hahahah ^
Then, you have me candidly showing clients what to do. Yes, I walk my clients through every little detail… (Even for boudoir and being over you!) hahah!
For how serious I get during portraits for weddings (because of the time crunch), my couples are still very trusting and so happy + in love! I love it! ๐
But don’t take my “being serious” too seriously! I am still smiling majority of the wedding day! ๐ Even the bride’s tribe helps make little family members smile for me! ๐
There are also times when I want a different angle, so I will do anything to make it happen! ๐
There were a few times this year when I met up with fellow photographers to hang out + shoot, one of those times was captured during the summer ๐
It always brings a smile to my face when I am culling through a wedding and I see that David has captured me at work during our couples’ special day! <3
David and I use each other to test our light.. but not only does he take pictures of me at work.. I capture him doing the job too. I can’t help it.. He is an attractive subject to photograph! ๐
“Do I have bigger biceps yet from carry the bag + a camera + the 70-200 lens(which is a heavy lens)?” hahah! Another test shot for the light!
And that is it for 2016!!
Again, thank you again for such an amazing year! ๐
So excited to take on 2017 full force!!
I hope you enjoyed some smiles (or giggles) going through today’s blog post.
Hope you all have a fun + safe new years this weekend!!
XOXO,
Shelby Danielle
