My lovely future brides, this one is for you! I know how incredibly stressful planning a wedding can be. As a wedding photographer, I have so much insight into wedding timelines, tips, tricks, and planning that I feel obligated to share everything with you that I have learned over the years. I want to help you make your wedding and the days leading up to it as seamless and stress free as possible. With that being said, today I’m going to share a huge hack that you can use the next time you meet up with your wedding florist before your big day!
Who doesn’t love wedding detail shots? They’re some of my absolute favorite photos to take at each and every wedding I go to! The details are what makes each bride so unique. My favorite parts of each bride’s detail shots are always the unused flowers from the her wedding bouquet or floral arrangements. You may be thinking, “left over flowers? Why wouldn’t they all be used?” Good question! That’s where my tip comes into play!
Tip number 1
Before the wedding, ask your wedding florist for any left over flowers that were unused in the making of your wedding bouquet or floral arrangements! Typically wedding florists will have some left over flowers & they’re almost always willing to part with them. They want your wedding to be just as a special as you do! Just let them know you’d love any left over singles for detail shots & be on your merry way!
Tip number 2
This one is more of a back up plan than it is its’ own tip—if you’re in a crunch for time and can’t go visit your florist before the wedding, you can always ask them for a few left over singles when then come to set up! It is your special day, after all! They’ll be more than willing to help.
Don’t have a florist in sight setting up and already missed your opportunity to re-visit to ask for singles? No worries at all! It’s totally possible for your wedding photographer to make due with what she has. Detail shots don’t need extra flowers—they’re just a fun addition that can make your photos look that much more beautiful!
Your wedding photographer will be able to handle any curveball you throw at them, especially if they have 10 years of experience—like me! Don’t sweat your wedding day. Sit back, relax, and savor every moment by hiring a photographer you can trust & rely on.
