Congratulations on your engagement! Now that you have the ring on your finger, it’s time to start planning your big day. As a Southern California wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of weddings and have compiled a wedding day checklist for brides to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
1. Get Ready
On the day of your wedding, you want to make sure that you have plenty of time to get ready without feeling rushed! Schedule your hair and makeup appointments accordingly and make sure to have a comfortable and spacious place to get ready. A hotel room or bridal suite at the venue are both great options. As a photographer, I love capturing the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready, so be sure to have your dress, shoes, jewelry, and any other accessories ready to go for photos!
2. Stay Hydrated and Fueled
Add water to your wedding day checklist for brides! It’s important to stay hydrated and fueled throughout the day, especially since wedding days can be long and tiring. Make sure to have plenty of water and snacks on hand to keep you and your wedding party energized. As your photographer, I recommend having a small cooler with refreshments nearby to make sure everyone stays hydrated and fueled up throughout the day.
3. Plan Your Timeline
Planning your timeline is crucial to ensuring that your wedding day runs smoothly. This should be at the top of every wedding day checklist for brides! Work with your wedding planner or venue coordinator to create a schedule for the day, including when you’ll be getting ready, taking photos, and when the ceremony and reception will take place. This will help you stay on track and ensure that you have enough time for everything! As your wedding photographer, I am here to help you with this, too!
4. Consider a First Look
A first look is a great way to capture a special moment between you and your soon-to-be spouse before the ceremony. It’s also a great way to get some photos out of the way before the ceremony so that you can enjoy more time with your guests during cocktail hour. Talk to your photographer about the best time for a first look and where you’d like it to take place.
5. Don’t Forget the Details
From the bouquet to the wedding rings, there are a lot of details that go into your big day. Make sure to have everything ready and in place for photos. As a photographer, I love capturing the little details that make your wedding unique, so be sure to have everything ready to go.
6. Enjoy the Moment
Lastly, don’t forget to enjoy the moment! Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so take a deep breath and savor every moment. As your photographer, I’m there to capture every moment of your special day, so you can relive those memories for years to come.
