Wow. It feels like forever since I last blogged. Really, it was just a little under two months. But for someone who blogged weekly, it really has felt like forever! haha!
One of the main reasons I haven’t been blogging is due to some exciting news.. WE ARE EXPECTING!! 😀
The last two months have been spent in bed. If I wasn’t in bed, I was photographing weddings, sessions, or the few hours I felt fine in a day, I would be editing, emailing, etc. for clients. My focus has been taking care of myself and my clients. Everything behind the scenes, including blogging, has been put on hold. BUT I hope what they say about second trimester (that it tends to be the best trimester in a pregnancy) is true, so I can catch up on all.of.the.things! haha!
I wanted to break the long break by not only sharing the news here on the blog, but also answer questions I have been receiving on Instagram. I shared the news on Instagram and my personal Facebook the evening of Monday, June 24th and within just 12 hours, my phone was blowing up with notifications.
I stated: Some of you know that last December/the week of Christmas, we were going to announce “our greatest gift arriving June 2019.”
Well, here we are in June 2019 announcing OUR GREATEST GIFT ARRIVING DECEMBER 2019!!🎄🎁❤️
It’s been a full circle and so many things have come to realization that everything does happen for a reason! We are so excited for this next step in our lives and bring this bundle of joy around Christmas time! 🥰 Our rainbow baby is due 12/27/2019!!🌈😍
This has been the hardest secret to keep, but in all honesty, it’s even hard to post! We have been wanting to scream it on rooftops out of excitement, but I am also thinking of all the couples who have been through the heartbreak of loss & infertility who are seeing this post. I feel for you and know how it feels to see these posts when you’re grieving. If you are currently in that boat, I only hope this post gives you hope! 🌈
I have felt so thankful for all the love and support. It was a bit nerve-racking to press post, especially after what we experienced in the fall, but I have been so happy and excited to get the news out there!
The main questions I received were:
When will you stop shooting before baby arrives?
For weddings, all my couples were aware of the news before I posted. So they know I will be shooting up until my last wedding on November 30th. God willing, of course.
For sessions, I am booking until October for now. This far out, I don’t know how I am going to feel in November. So I am planning on November to be the month to focus on my current booked clients, weddings, and focus on preparing for my maternity leave. If I feel well enough, as we approach the month of November, I will decide if I will continue photographing sessions.
With that being said, if you are wanting your fall session, now is the time to reach out to book your session. October is already 60% full!
When is your maternity leave?
I plan to be on maternity leave from December 1st, 2019 – March 1st, 2020. December will be the month of preparing for baby and waiting for his or her arrival and January & February will be all about the baby and adjusting to the new season of being a family of three.
How have you been feeling?
Overall, physically & mentally, pretty darn good! I have had my days, but I have been taking one day at a time and enjoying this blessing. 🙂
I hope that helps not only share the exciting news, but also answer some questions. If you are a client or want to become a client and have ANY questions, I am more than happy to help answer those questions and chat! Feel free to reach out! 🙂
Thank you all for the love & support as we have announced and prepare for this new season in our lives! It means so much!
XOXO,
Shelby Danielle
