Three Tips To Prepare For Your Headshot Session

Share It On Your Social Media!

AHH! It’s like breaking news! I am FINALLY blogging! Hahah!

Since it has been so long since I have blogged AND I have been booking more headshots recently, I thought it would be the perfect time to share a helpful tips blog post.

Today I want to share my top three tips for preparing for your natural light headshot session. I have had headshot sessions booked for businesses, real estate, and to have for a modeling and/or acting portfolio.

1. The main tip I have is to look like yourself, but put together. For guys: have a clean shave and have your hair put together. For the ladies: Simple curls or straight for your hair is perfect! For your makeup, keep it simple. Get it done, but keep it with natural tones. Your makeup artist will know how to bring out your natural features, but also put on the correct amount (yes, it might feel like a lot!) and where to put it.

2. Wear something basic. A plain t-shirt or a nice plain neutral colored blouse works great! People want to see YOU. Having a crazy colored shirt or designs will take away from others looking at you and your eyes first.

3. Picking location. I will help with this. We honestly don’t need much, as we will be focusing on your face as the subject. This is my job to help make sure we don’t have a super distracting background, but is still natural and pretty for you. 🙂

I hope these quick tips help ease your mind as you prep for your headshot session. Remember, these photos are to show off YOU and they will do just that. 🙂

XOXO,
Shelby Danielle
