Three tips on how to blog consistently | For Photographers

Share It On Your Social Media!

Today’s blog post is short & sweet for you all! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been receiving the question, “How do you stay so consistent with weddings?” So, I thought I would share three little tricks with my fellow photographers and creative business owners!

1. GOALS: I make it a priority/goal to blog 1-2 posts once a week! I make that day a Monday or Tuesday! It’s in the beginning of the week, where I won’t have to worry about it as the week goes on. Some other creatives have told me they do once a month and really knock out all the posts for one or multiple months! I give those entrepreneurs props!! I personally can’t do that, so I stick with my small goal and repeated task of doing one or two in the beginning of the week. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. SCHEDULE!! I believe this goes with number one and is actually the most important! With allowing one day a week (or a month), you can knock out that post (or posts) and not have to worry about it during the rest of the week (or month!). Most blogging sites allow you to schedule your posts. I schedule based on when I want it to go live. I also then schedule my Facebook posts that lead up to the blog post. I can’t exactly schedule Instagram, but I do put it in my notes for that specific day to share about it! I swear, scheduling the posts is such a life saver!! I can be at a shoot, spending time with family, or at the gym and the post can go live! It’s awesome!

3. NOTES: Whenever I have a wedding and/or session, they obviously go onto my notes to blog. (Getting real here: it’s so hard to blog every wedding and session. Specifically weddings!! They take a lot of time to type out AND get the photos ready for the post! BUT I’m making it a goal for next year to try harder!) The awesome part of the notes of blog posts to post is when I randomly have a thought/idea, I put it right there and then I never run out of ideas to blog! (Just like this post ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) Other creatives may not have weddings or sessions to blog as often as I do, but having notes on your phone or by your desk to write down ideas will definitely help later on when you feel like you are running dry on what to post. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope these three little tips help you out! ๐Ÿ™‚ Now, go make some goals on when and what to blog! hehe! ๐Ÿ™‚
