Kate’s mother first contacted me when David and I were in France during the month of April and for some reason I could not listen to her voicemail message until more than a week until we got back from our trip. I felt horrible! I felt like I made her feel like I was ignoring her and had no interest in her or her daughter.
I am SO thankful for her forgiveness and understanding when we finally got to connect! We were still able to work with each other and I am SO happy we had the chance to!
Kate was my last 2017 senior during my spring season and is friends with one of my former 2016 senior reps. She saw the variety that my seniors receive. From the outfits changes to the locations and wanted to work together. I was so excited to hear they loved that!
But Kate and her mother wanted something different for her graduation announcements. They didn’t want the fields or the downtown feel for her session. So, I asked them where they spend a lot of time or if is there a location that means something to them. Well, they instantly came up with the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Corona Del Mar, California for her senior portraits.
I have never photographed there or in an area with yachts before, but I could tell you I was looking forward to her session for weeks! I was SO excited to photograph something different and even more so, something meaningful to her and her family.
But what I was not expecting was how much fun I would have with her and her mom!! When we first met in front of the yacht club, we instantly shared smiles and conversation.
During Kate’s session, she could not stop smiling, laughing, and simply glowing! She was radiant and made my job easy! I guess you could say she was excited to graduate and start her new chapter! 😉
As I share her senior session portraits here on the blog, it is in the middle of the summer… Her count down to college is ON!! hehe!
I love SO many photographs of her and it has been so hard to bring it down to share with you all. I hope you enjoy the pretty light we had coming behind the yachts, the rippling water, and her beautiful smile. 🙂
Kate, thank you for giving me the chance to capture your beauty during this exciting transition between high school and college! Congrats! Have fun, continue working hard, and good luck at Wake Forest! 🙂
XOXO,
