Senior Equine Photography | Orange, CA

Happy Wednesday!
Woohoo, we are half way through the week!
I am SO excited to be blogging this Orange County high school graduate this morning.

Back in May, I attended an open house and during the open house, I had two types of giveaways. The people who walked by my table and signed up had the choice of a free engagement session or boudoir. The other was winning a free senior session or family session. Lexi, who I am blogging about this morning, won the free family or senior session. Since she just graduated, she chose a senior session. Makes sense, right? 😉

With a couple months of planning, rescheduling, and planning again, we finally got the chance to have the shoot in early July! I am SO happy we got the chance to have this shoot. When I first contacted Lexi that she won her session, right off the bat I could tell that she was appreciative + excited for the shoot… which made me SO excited to photograph her session. Within a few emails back and forth, she asked if she can bring not only one, but THREE of her horses along. This made me even more happy that Lexi won! I haven’t had the chance to have a senior or any type of session with horses and I was ESTATIC that she wanted to bring hers!

Since I have never photographed horses in a portrait setting, I let Lexi pose herself with her beloved horses and I guided her with what would look best. I knew she knew her horses more than I did, so I wanted her comfortable, but with a photographer’s help on what might look best in the type of setting where were in. This session was so laid back and full of smiles, that it made me so refreshed in knowing why I started this business. Being able photograph such beauty in each and every client that I work with just makes my heart SO happy.

This was definitely a different type of session than what I am use to, but I am IN LOVE with SO many!  Take a look at some of my favorites below! 🙂

XOXO,
Shelby Danielle
