Happy “Wedding Wednesday!” 😉
I hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! It seems like this week is flying by! Am I the only one? It might be because I am staying busy!
Anyways, I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to blog my experience + some photos of my time second shooting for Jaime Davis Photography a couple months ago!
I met Jaime through a group on Facebook called, Shoot & Share last year. She held an Orange County Photographer meet up and I went out of my comfort zone to attend. I got to learn more about Off Camera Flash by The Yodsukars along side many other Orange County Photographers! After attending the meet up, I followed many of the photographers on social media, including Jaime.
After almost a year after meeting Jaime, she announced she was doing a Wedding Workshop. I jumped right on it! I was SO excited to learn more about how Jaime is so successful in her business. (I mean, around 20-30 weddings a year, YES! That is successful! hehe!) During her workshop I got to learn from her and Crystal about how to stay organized, get clients, and SO much more! After attending the workshop, myself and all the rest of the attendees got put into a Facebook group. This group is amazing! We all help each other out when we have questions or concerns! We even ask for second shooters for certain weddings we have… And that’s how this wedding day came!
Jaime posted in the group asking if anyone was interested in second shooting for one of her many July weddings. Once I noticed the date and realized I was free, I quickly commented saying I was interested!
The day of the wedding was so much fun! Jaime knew exactly what she was doing and what to do in certain circumstances. It was a pleasure being able to witness how she does everything on a wedding day and even more so, being able to be near her and photographing some important moments! I was also excited to shoot a wedding in a Catholic church! All the weddings I have photographed have been outdoors and it was a nice change + experience to photograph an indoor wedding! 🙂
Although, I second shot for Jaime, I was also hired as an assistant. If she needed my help more than another set of photos of the bridal party, I was there helping her! So, I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the day, that I did get to capture! 🙂
