Ahh summer and fall weddings… depending on where the wedding is, it can either mean enjoying a day of blissful sun, warmth, and relaxation, or sweltering temperatures and relaxing in the A/C. Regardless of how summer and fall look, they’ve certainly become extremely popular seasons for weddings! I completely understand the allure of a summer or fall wedding. The colors seem brighter, the days last longer, and the memories seem to live a bit more vividly in our minds.
Since summer and fall can sometimes look similar or very different in terms of decor and style, I wanted to break them up into their own categories. It can feel overwhelming to start narrowing down your wedding decor, because there are so many incredible ideas for both summer and fall weddings! If you’re still figuring out what your wedding decoration will look like, I hope these inspiration photos of summer and fall weddings will help you a bit!

For a Summer Wedding
Summer Color Schemes: Embrace seasonal florals and warm hues like cinnamon and gold, or classic neutrals pair perfectly with a timeless wedding style. Feeling a bit more tropical? Opt for coral and sage, sorbet shades with stark white, or ocean blues and creams. If you’re looking for a modern feel, pair blush and burgundy, or navy and peach, to keep things from getting too cold!
Ideally, summer weddings will, at least in part, take place outside. Make sure to include decorative elements that also keep your guests cool and comfortable, like parasols, decorative paper fans, or discreet A/C fans! Keep the party going all evening long with plenty of festive lights, which will cast a warm, summer glow on your celebration.

For a Fall Wedding
Fall Color Schemes: Warm, cozy colors are the way to go with a fall wedding. Much like the summer wedding color palettes, cinnamon, gold, and burgundy are wonderful. Include a deep sage, rich mustard, or warm chestnut to lean into the fall feel.
Fall weddings are probably my favorite, because they can be equal parts classic and cozy, rustic and elegant. I love the extra crisp feel of the air in fall, and that couples can still have outdoor weddings in the fall! (When we do get that here in Southern California.) Lean into textures like corduroy, velvet, and plaid patterns to accentuate your fall wedding. Of course, we can’t forget about the incredible foliage available in the fall! Incorporate as many stunning leaves as you can into your wedding bouquets, aisle decorations, table centerpieces, and pretty much anything else you can think of! There’s no such thing as too much fall foliage in my opinion!
