Orange County CA Boudoir Marathon

Share It On Your Social Media!

Hi! Wow! It’s been a busy couple of weeks, but I am happy to be here on my blog again.
This morning, I thought I would share about my experience + some (I mean, it’s A LOT) photos from my boudoir marathon that happened this last weekend on Saturday, June 13th, 2015.

You might be asking, “What is a boudoir marathon?” A boudoir marathon is when the photographer has a full day or two of shooting with no breaks in between. Since this was my first time, I thought I would only do one day and only have 5-6 spots. I would arrive at the OC Boudoir Studio before 10:00 to get ready for my 10:30 client. While I was getting the studio ready, my 10:30 client was getting ready for her spot (this client paid for two spots so she had more time being photographed). Once I photographed her for an hour, my next client was getting ready while I was shooting. Then once I was done with the first one, I started photographing the second client. While I was photographing the second client, the third client was getting ready. And so on. I was at the studio until 2:30. So it was a long day of getting ready, photographing clients, and cleaning the studio. It’s really, an all day event, instead of having certain clients on certain days.

For this marathon, I gave my clients 30 minutes of shooting time (with an option to upgrade their package to another 30 minutes if the spot after their picked spot was available), complimentary hair + makeup, 30 high resolution photos (each in color + black & white), and a little black book of their photos. I also gave them little gifts to take home right after they were done being photographed and about to leave the studio. You will be able to see what was in their gift bags as you read + view this blog post.

Now, onto how I started this event. A couple months ago I decided that I really wanted to do a boudoir marathon. In all honesty, I had a fear that I wouldn’t sell out due to the event not taking place during the holidays. Many girls tend to book their boudoir shoots with me during the holidays. Such as, around Christmas time or Valentine’s Day to give their significant other. So, why was I having a boudoir marathon in JUNE of all months? Well, I wanted to try something different and have fun! What amazed me was that I actually SOLD OUT! I was thrilled + amazed!!! I had girls booking their sessions for themselves, for their significant other’s birthdays or anniversaries, and for a “just because.” Whatever their reason was, I was so happy to be able to capture their beauty and help them gain confidence for themselves and/or create something different + special for themselves and their significant other.

Many people don’t understand the art of boudoir, but that’s okay. They either don’t understand or like it, so they think it’s “trashy.” I am not doing these type of shoots for the ones who don’t like boudoir. I am here to help other girls no matter what age, size, etc. feel comfortable in their own skin. Every girl deserves to feel beautiful in the body that God gave her, so this is why this type of shoot holds such a huge part of my heart. I have had girls go through breakups that wanted this shoot to help build them up and that filled my heart with gratitude. I’ve had girls book this type of shoot to share with their significant other and that filled my heart with excitement for the girls + their significant other. There are SO many reasons why girls come to me for these type of shoots and I am always there to help them.

With all that being said, I would love for you to check out the photos from the marathon below.
Each girl had their own comfortability and I worked with that. I do not push the girls to do something they are not comfortable with at the shoot and after their shoot. So, you may not see some amazing shots of some of the girls or some girls from the shoot at all. They like to keep their photos or some photos to themselves and I am happy to keep it that way. But for the ones that are posted below, take a look at the art + the beautiful girls I got to photograph.

First, here are the photos of their gifts:

(Two of the girls had blue as their favorite color, so one of their gifts is not pictured because it is the same one as the one above)

I got them the MOST comfortable panties from Victoria’s Secret, nail polish from Sally Hansen, amazing Chapstick through EOS, and hand sanitizer + lotion to put into their purses from Bath & Body Works. To top off their gifts, I got handmade cards made by Simply Handmade Cards.

Now, to the beautiful ladies!
