2018 Behind The Scenes

Every year I love to make a blog post of behind the scenes. I love looking back at each post and see the recap.

This year this post is going up a little late, as it’s the second week of the year, but hey! It’s still up. 🙂 On another point, it’s still early in the year! Hehe! I took the time to enjoy the holidays this year and I think this blog post is the perfect way to get me back into this years blog posts. 🙂

Every year seems to get better and better, but this year was different. This year was a special one, as I got to be a bride along side my 2018 brides. David and I got married in May and our spring was crazy with portrait sessions, weddings, and planning our own big day. As the summer went into fall, the wedding picked up again and I was experiencing so much personally. From pregnancy to loss, but I have found out my strengths through out it all.

This year was a year of learning so much within my business, marriage, and myself and for that, I am thankful. 🙂

I also have grown my team of second shooters and love how they have helped so much during the times David could not make it, as we transition him out of being the primary 2nd shooter. You will see some of them doing awesome here on this post. 😉

This year’s behind the scenes is similar to all the past, but I can’t help put to continue sharing the fun and funny moments at portrait session, weddings, and events.

To couple sessions & engagement session to weddings, always so fun to capture it all!To even business headshots + content shots, it’s been fun!We have shot all over, one of my favorites that got caught for behind the scenes was this Forest Falls maternity session! I also have to give props to Chris, for still having his wives maternity session during a sports game. Anytime he had a break he was checking those scores! haha! There were also times when I thought a rock was funny 😉
or how about seeing a cute kid and couldn’t help but smile!?No better way then testing the indoor light by doing a little selfie. 😛

Speaking of testing light, receptions were always the place to test light and the many faces (& candid moments) that come with it are my favorite.Sometimes we even use ourselves to test at the same time!
Also, peep that water bottle on the right. haha! Triple digit heat & a dress with pockets calls for water being at my side at all time! ;PWhen I tell my brides that I am not just a photographer, but an extra bridesmaid, I’m not kidding! I am there to help in anyway! My team is on it, too!The brides don’t get me as their extra bridesmaid, but sometime the grooms have me for help, too!I also spend a lot time bossing people around 😉Especially those bridal parties!I also do a lot of walking up & down, forward and backwards down aisles checking things out and capturing those big moments!

We get into each other shots, but don’t worry, it’s only for a good reason to get a better shot 😉There are times when we decide to capture each other & I make these facesWhile I capture my team getting work doneThere was also A LOT of veil fluffing!

and dancing on that dance floor

Always capturing those heirlooms in your wedding day, even if it means something that arrived in the middle of portraits! hehe! When you have your bridal hair & makeup trail before a senior session. I told you our spring season was busy! haha!

Love working alongside video teams to help capture your day in ways that I can’t. Such as audio when it comes to those vows & speeches!

And of course, by the end of the day of a wedding, I am on that dance floor with my couple & guest capturing those fun moments!

Thank you for checking out another blog post today!

So excited to see what 2019 has in store! 🙂

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
